I'm not a big fan of the fiberglass toothpick either.
Put a 5 degree downtilt into radio mobile, and see what it does to
your pattern over flat land. Now look at your toothpick, which is
usually leaning a few degrees one way or the other due to wind.

I was talking to a person yesterday about foaming tyres and it seems after the foam expands it becomes hard so I would think it would a1 for making a colinear more resistant to winds so the joints carnt move .I do not however know if the problem is static buildup between the sections then f
