I have tuned many of these in the past, and the last set I tuned was doing exactly what you say. But they looked great on the HP 8920, but as soon as any power was run through them, the tuning went all to hell and there was major desense. So I looked a little closer by taking the 80 odd screws

I used the one that normally tunes the driver to the final. Yup I sorta have a grave yard of known dead PPL-6060s, some were bad recievers, others didn't transmit. I guess I should mark them. On 3/21/08, Paul Finch <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Which of the tuning capacitors did you have to use fr

Which of the tuning capacitors did you have to use from the PPL? I hope it was not that really little one, they cause more problems than anything. Wow, you had to try three PPL's before you found a good PA transistor? That is unusual, in the shop I worked at we seldom changed one, had more proble

One of the main issues with Beryllium Oxide is to not breath any of the dust when it breaks, is ground on or sanded. I work with it every so often and actually can and do repair broken Beryllium oxide parts for industry, which include some of the blocks found in rf amplifiers. cheers, skipp
