i have used two variations for diplexers, the Austin diplexers or
even the triplexer has worked for me with great results. The
next would be a DCI diplexer/ pass filters , their 2m/440
unit is very good / low insertion loss and the sharp filters
help in keeping the intermod out..

I've seen gensets and air compressors here in NY, I was told by the
crew of the crane they mostly did it to
keep the cable tensioned on the crane, any kink overnight was difficult
to deal with the next day. not doing it
made for some bumpy lifts which can add some excitment that they really
do
