Don't know about that circulator, but many have a narrow tuning range without
going back to the factory for modifications. Sid.

That may be where I got it, not sure. It seems to make sense and it seems to
work where I have tried it, at least no known problems using it. Maybe all
this discussion on cable length will settle the issue for good. Thanks. Sid.

RE: Link radios. My first ham station was a Link base unit on 40 something MHz
given to me by the sheriff when they got new equipment. I reworked all the
tuning coils and moved it to 52.525 MHz and used it for years. Those tubes
looked nice at night with the lights off. Sid. WA4VBC
I have done it many years ago. As I recall they take minimum work to use on
VHF freqs, but I would go with a later series of GE equipment.

My vote would be for folded dipole arrays. Sinclair, Comprod, Telewave and

I agree, the Pro was a pleasure to tune when it was woking right. Of course
the Progress line was also a pleasure to tune, both TX and RX.
I hated to do it but a short while back I took all the Pro stuff to the
landfill. Sid. WA4VBC

I have one and am very pleased with it. It is very heavy so it is best on the
bench. The analog functions are fairly straght forward, however, I still have
some questions about the spectrum analyze that seems to be a great feature.

I fully agree, the PSE 508 is an excellent controller. I have 3 of them and
never a problem. Sid. WA4VBC

Have chance to install a DB 224
Some time back we had a thread (can not find) on the E8285A cell site test unit
being used as VHF/UHf service monitor. Someone questioned if the signal gen
was accurate as far as the level is concerned. I just checked mine at 146.00
Mhz and it was dead on freq and level. Just for info and
Don't know, but first chance I get I will check it against my calibrated 1200S.

I recently acquired a HP E-8285A CDMA test set and it appears to make an
excellent radio service monitor.. They are becoming available on the surplus
market at bargin basemant prices, Anyone else have one that would like to
exchange notes? Sid.
