[Repeater-Builder] feedpoint impedance for DB-212

2010-03-31 Thread Tyke
Ok now, time pick some brains and or stir up the old gray matter! Anybody know the feedpoint imprdance od the DB-212 lowband antennas. They look to be too far apart for 300 or 450 ohm, and seem to be too far apart for 600 ohm. any old DB Product engineers out there who would wish to grace

i have only seen the 5% rule applied when building yagi antennas. the reflector is normally 5% longer and all subsequent directors are are 5% shorter thn the preceding element!! now , as for the DB-201 ground plane, It is a 1/2 wave folded loop ground plne which exhibits no gain. the

I see that someone has already made a comment about it, so, i'll say this instead. It sounds like you have gotten your hands on a Dentron Super Tuner. Damn good antenna tuner IMHO!!! Wish i could find one or two of them myself!! Enjoy it!!! Tyrone N5XES

good morning Martin, Why not use a db-201 folded loop ground plane instead? It is half the length of the db-212 which needs at least 2 bays to be halfway decent. (they make em with 3 and 4 bays also. the pattern off of the 4 bay is the best for coverage. The 3 bay has too much 3 leaf
