Several of the repeater controllers are capable of generating paging
tones. I have an SCom 6K controller on my 2 meter repeater that set off
my Motorola BPR2000 voice pager when someone used the autopatch or
dialed 911. I haven't used it in years since cell phones got popular,

having had some experience with paging for VFD's etc I might suggest that using
obscure paging tones causes problems for folks who want a pager that will
work...i.e. the Minitor 2.
the other pagers although programmable are much less reliable , less sensitive
and otherwise

just came across a motorola keynote, any one seen a service manual or
schematic for one? trying to find a COS point to run the monitor
button, or can these be programed to listen to the PL tone and unmute
without beeping?
I don't think the Keynote could do PL decode, I think they could only do 2
tone sequential decoding.

That is an interesting idea. I have a 2 tone signal gen that I can dial up the
frequency and timing independently. If you give me the frequency and timing I
could record them for you as a wave file or what ever file format you need.

I'm actually working on a few repeaters in the commercial band for our
incident notification network.
One of the things i thought about doing was using some of the old clasic
plectron tones
in the
county.
