I helped put the first repeater on in Arkansas 40 years ago and have been involved in repeaters ever since then. To my knowledge there has never been an amateur repeater on the tower that fell. The only amateur use was by an engineer for the educational channel 2. After hours a number of years ago he hooked a 6 meter radio to the broadcast antenna. At 2000 feet over flat terrain you can imagine the coverage.
This tower was erected in 1965 and at that time was the second tallest structure in the world. They were in the process of replacing the guy wires when the tower collapsed.
