Actually not. The TPL line of RF Power Amplifiers came from the initials of the guy who started TPL Communications 30 some odd years ago, Thomas P. Litty. I think his ham call was K6RAD (Ken, please correct me if I am wrong.) The original TPL is the earlier General Electric
