Tom, The answer is: Neither. The correct method is to use the Calibrate Power screen to adjust the power setting at each of 16 calibration points. When performed per the RSS instructions, the power output will be uniform at any point within the band edges. All of the nuances of the RVN4019

Thanks Eric! All these years of programming maxtracs and somehow I missed that one. Did four radios this afternoon, all now happy across the band. What was interesting is two of them are still factory set from motorola they were no where near right either. Thanks again! Tom W9SRV Sent
