I agree. It's buried in an unlikely spot. With as much discussion that it
gets, it maybe should be in a category of its own. Or maybe a FAQ list with
a link.

Call ICM, send them the ICOMs, they will make the crystals for you.

Thanks to all the guys who are helping me clean out

Does anyone know how many turns are on the helical resonators in the front end
of a UHF 402-420 77 split GE Mastr II radio? I am in the process of trying to
move a receiver down from the 450-470 range and I think all that needs changed
are the coils in the front end. If anyone has any info,

I have been in the proccess of converting my low-band Micor repeater
to 6M use, I got the reciever and transmitter converted over, and
semi-retuned the PA when it stoped keying, afer checking around I
cleaned the contacts on the Station Control (TLN4635B) F1-PL

I got a bunch of modules from an e-bay auction and I got a card I have
no idea what it is - or better yet if I can use it. The part number is
a TRN6087 - It looks like a metering module, has a 50ua meter, meter
selection switch, speaker, volume etc.
Thanks!

My repeater that I'm fighting with has a TLN1106A Power supply, and
when I got it there was a blue shielded wire coming out of the PS with
a slip on connector on it floating around the cabinet. I have
determined it is connected to one side of the Tone Lvl pot. Where do I

I too found the optima yellow tops a bit too weak for a deep cycle
use as well (and a hard lesson learned after purchasing 4 of those
expensive buggers). I now use 6V Powersonic AGM 210AH 6Volt
batteries. I'm much happier with them. I'm sure there are better out
there. Good luck in your
Trevor,
I think you are referring to the TPN1106A Power Supply with the C28/C29
Battery Protection and Alarm Option. You should order the Motorola manual
6881104E92, for about $6, while it is still in print. The blue wire is
connected to the exciter audio input, and injects a 1400 Hz
Ian,
The best type of battery for backup repeater power is, in my opinion, a
valve-regulated, sealed lead-acid battery using absorptive glass mat design.
In the solar-power industry, this battery is described as a VRSLA-AGM
battery.
When floated on the appropriate solar, wind, or utility power
I am still in the market for a SEA ESP1000 repeater so I can beguin
the 222-225 MHz NBFM conversion project.
I would prefere one with the Reference oscillator, but it may not be
nessacary so I will take what I can get.
The setup I have is 2 uhf 50 watt repeaters with a 25 watt Philips repeater
on two optima batteries with regulator charged by a 200 watt wind generator
and 4 80 watt panels .However I will be seperating 1 50 watt repeater off
onto its own battery system as soon as we can get to the site to reduce
