Jed, I bought a new Bridgecom UHF repeater direct from the vendor, immediately after its introduction. It is simply two Maxon mobile radios in a 2U rackmount box with a rudimentary controller, a Samlex switching power supply, and some fans. I was intending to use it on the Amateur 70cm band, but

They are pretty good. The main market they are used in our area is GMRS repeaters. I have two that I work with, one 50 watt and one 10 watt and they work decent. It's just a repeater with CW ID and a multi-tone controller and does not do much else (don't need anything more than that for GMRS). Th

Afraid not, Randy. The RCS1000 controller is a 3" x 8" PC board that is a repeater controller. The one I have is in a box with two GE/Erisson MCS UHF radios. This was originally a data repeater that passed everything including loud open squelch noise. Thanks anyway, Joe --- In Repeater-Build

Or you could junk the old supply. Go to a switcher and for the 9.6 use a 7809 with a diode in the ground connection, Make sure you fuse and add the proper caps to the input and output of the 7809. You will just have saved the planet some greenhouse gasses Not to mention your electric bill. N
