. It is a SMF type fuse. you will find them also in the Motorola P110, GP300
and GP350 portable radios but they are rated at 4 amps for the portables. I

Form experience: commercial radios have a better
receiver than a ham radio or scanner. When you are
looking at the price of the radio the higher priced
radio generally has a better built receiver. while
there is not much difference between the GM300 and the
SM120 there would be a great difference
FYI the 1k test tonew you hear is actully a 1050hz
test tone that activates older recievers.
