For the TK-840 Mobile you should obtain the kct-19 accessory cable
and a copy of the service manual. Most of the functions you're asking
about are brought out to the rear connnector supplied on the end
(flying lead) of the plug and play cable.

I stock the option cable kits for the tk-840, 780
and 880 and can scan the pin out for it if
you want that information.
