Gee, ours has never given us anything but Amber alerts (lost kids,
mostly parental custody squabbles). When the last one woke us up at
4AM!!! we unplugged the radio. Not useful in CA.

I've never heard an Amber Alert over the NWS
They do it here in the Chicago area.
However, some SAME radios cannot receive the alerts. (like the one I have at
home.)
