Thanks for volunteering to improve repoze.what.

master is the stable branch, so it's best to create patches/pull requests
against it.

However, I looked into adding this functionality before and gave up. It's
too difficult to support it across so-called adapters while also
preserving backwards compatibility. So I'd suggest that you proposed the
approach you have in mind here before you spend time implementing it -- It
may be that you'd be better off with a solution specific to your project
(and group/permission adapters).

In my application I want to assign permissions to 'anonymous'/'all
authenticated' users. I found Groups and permissions for anonymous users
(http://bugs.repoze.org/issue54) which says this is 'in progress' (since 3
years). Is that still the state of development? How hard would it be to
implement this myself? Pointers/some API hints?
