If you don't take control of your thoughts, all kinds of things happen. Some good, some not so good. Then, do you say to yourself in frustration, "I don't know how to change!"? Well, here's an insight for you. You change by changing your thoughts. (I bet you've heard that before. Still, you keep having the same thoughts, don't you?) If you are always feeling down, maybe your thoughts are something like "I'm always in a "funk". I never seem to have any energy!". If you keep thinking that, then guess what? That's what's going to happen tomorrow. If you get the flu easily, maybe your thoughts are something like "I knew I'd get the flu! I'm always get the flu!" If you keep thinking that, then guess what? You'll get the flu and through the years you'll continually get the flu. If you dread going to the doctor, maybe your thoughts are something like "I know he's going to tell me to lose weight, eat better, and exercise, but I just can't seem to do it." If you keep thinking that, then guess what? You'll keep the habit of being unable to lose weight, eat better, and exercise tomorrow -- and all the rest of your tomorrows. Now, do you realize that if you continually say any or all of the sentences in red, you'll continually keep getting the same results? Let's see what happens when you start to think as you did above, then suddenly change it. You're starting to think that thought, but SUDDENLY you stop in mid thought and say, "I now release the pattern in my consciousness that is creating resistance to my good." Let's compare the two. 1. When your brain hears "I don't know how to change!", it hears AND believes it! So it keeps letting you going through the same experiences that cause the same problem -- where you have the same response and keep making the same mistakes. Or 2. "I now release the pattern in my consciousness that is creating resistance to my good." Hey, how about that? The brain didn't have any resources to call upon as it did in the first sentence. With the second sentence, the brain got busy and allowed the pattern that was creating resistance to your good to flow away. The brain did NOT reproduce the old, frustrating pattern of "I don't know how to change!". Which sentence do you want to use? What scenario do you want to duplicate? The rut people talk about in their brain is the rut of negative patterns continually going around and around. Release that rut by not reproducing the thoughts that made it.
