Our direct client located in midtown NYC is looking to bring on a Java Developer within their Data Management team. The individual chosen will have a strong and consistant employment history in order to be considered for permanent hire down the road. Team Overview: The Data Management group is responsible for design and development of level 3 support for the Global Risk Data repository. This group is focused on processing, storing, and reporting the trade and sensitivity of information as well as the market and reference data. The data is stored in a database and used for processing by various downstream systems, that work with risk. It is a global team of developers, specializing in differentent technologies, such as Java, SSIS, C#, and Flex. Role / Principal Accountabilities: Design, Development and Support of various modules and components of the Risk Data Management system (RDS). Articulate technical design & solutions to non-technical business users. Onwership of project work during different phases FPLC: initiation, development, unit testing to QA, UAT, staging and production.Profiling of the current application, new changes and identification of areas of performance improvement and memory optimization will be imperative to make this role successful.Writing Unit test cases (JUnit) and documenting the technical design and other operational procedures will be needed as well.
