The Systems Engineer will collaborate with DevOps team to develop,
implement, and sustain cloud-based solutions and initiatives. They will
work with cross-functional teams to deploy a state-of-the-art underpinning
infrastructure to support the next generation of cloud-based applications &
services. Primary responsibilities for Cloud Systems Engineer includes but
not limited to:

·5+ years of experience with engineering and implementing solutions
using server technologies such as Microsoft Server/Windows, SUSE/Red Hat
Linux, and VMware

·Experience with Cloud Computing services such as Amazon Web Services
(AWS) and Microsoft Azure is a plus

· Experience in various IaaS architectures, to include Redhat
OpenStack, VMWare vCloud suite, Eucalyptus, and CloudStack is a plus

·  Experience in various hypervisor technologies, to include Redhat
KVM, VMWare vSphere and Microsoft HyperV

·  Understanding of Cloud Orchestration and Automation methods and
technologies is a plus

·   Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Information Technology field
is desired, or equivalent combination of education and experience

·   Excellent analytic and troubleshooting skills for problems that
span multiple domains (application, network, system, hardware)

·A strong understanding of building security into the technical
design will be needed

·Sound interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing
skills

In addition to in-depth technical knowledge of the employer’s software and
hardware, systems engineers need advanced analytical, troubleshooting and
design skills. The ability to communicate with technical and nontechnical
users also is essential. Employers may require extensive knowledge of the
development process, including specification, documentation and quality
assurance. Because of the broad range of demands systems engineers must
meet, candidates who have demonstrated strong project planning skills often
hold an advantage. Employers generally prefer candidates with five or more
years of experience working with the specific hardware and software
systems, as well as a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.



*Typical duties include:*

• Developing, maintaining and supporting technical infrastructure, hardware
and system software components

• Performing installation, maintenance and support of system
software/hardware and user support

• Configuring, debugging and supporting multiple infrastructure platforms

• Performing high-level root cause analysis for service interruption
recovery and creating preventive measures





In addition to the above duties the following skills are critical for this
position.



This position is for a Systems Engineer that has Windows OS and VMware
virtualization skills to work on a global divestiture program.  It is
essential that the candidate have at least 3-5 years of VMWare experience
and had some experience with physical to virtual consolidation projects in
the past.In addition, the candidate must be able to setup new windows
servers (2003, 2007, 2008, 2013). A standard 40 hour work week is expected
with some weekend work likley.  In addition, some travel may be required so
a passport may be needed.



The following is a summary of the skills required and the duties that the
candidate will be expected to perform:



*Essential Duties*

· Baseline Systems Performance prior to virtualization/relocation

· Analyze system performance after virtualization/relocation

· Plan and design virtualized environment based on site system needs

· Serve as an interface to the project team/site team to
troubleshoot and identify any sever/performance issues

· Ensure that all appropriate documentation is created or updated
as needed

· Build systems to Jabil baseline standards

· Deploy fixes/patches to servers in response to newly identified
stability or security threats

*Required Skills*

· Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows server products
(2003, 2008, 2012)

· Extensive experience with VMware products

· Knowledge of and understanding of Microsoft clustering services

· Extensive knowledge and understanding of HP Servers / ESX
environments

· Good understanding of EMC SAN platforms

· MCSE Certification

· VMware VCP certified preferred

· CA Arc serve Experience preferred

· Ability to remotely configure servers using ILO

· Solid understanding of Windows AD



• Architecture design and advanced understanding of application systems and
hardware platforms within an existing or Green-Field environment

• Creation of architectural diagrams and support documentation

• Perform installation and problem analysis of system software/hardware,
often remotely, with a range of platforms: Blade, Single Server, Farm, etc..

• Configuring, debugging and supporting multiple Systems or storage
infrastructure platforms such as Windows, Linux, HP, Cisco, EMC, etc..

• Creating BOMs and obtaining Quotes for said BOMs, as well as, leveraging
vendors for preferred pricing

• Leading engineering calls with internal and external peers to drive
architectural consensus and resolution

• Interface with Application owners and external vendors

• Initiate remedy and proactively identify solutions to events or roadblocks
