*Windows 7 Project Manager*
a. Title: Windows 7 Project Manager (pre-implementation phases)
b. *Description*: Provides project management support for the
pre-implementation phases of Windows 7 (requirements, design, build, test,
pilot).
c. *Responsibilities:*
i. Develop a project
plan for the Windows 7 pre-implementation phases.
ii. Oversee a project
team consisting of Windows 7 technical employees and contractors.
iii. Coordinate
application compatibility testing for Windows 7 and manage any needed
application remediation and/or alternative solutions
(e.g., App-V, MED-V, shims).
iv. Update the plan,
manage risks, report status on a weekly basis.
v. Optionally, develop
a project plan for the Windows 7 implementation phase
(e.g., communication, training, coordination of XP to Windows 7 upgrades
across several months).
d. *Qualifications*:
i. Extensive
experience with the project management of the pre-implementation phases of a
new Windows OS – both XP and 7.
ii. At least 2
successful pre-implementation projects of Windows 7 in mid-size companies
(1000+ users).
iii. Substantial
knowledge of Windows 7 and associated technologies.
