*Senior Performance Tester (3964)* Portland 2++ months (this will more than likely extend 12-18 months in duration) The Performance Test Analyst has two main activities. First; the person is responsible for the Performance Test Stream Detail Development (research, detailing execution steps, detailing requirements, etc.) via the approved Performance Test Stream Detail document. This includes meetings with both business and technical personnel involved with the specific Stream. Second; the person is responsible for either the actual execution or the coordination of the execution of the Performance Test Stream. Plus the person is responsible for the measuring the results of the Performance Test Stream versus the previously agreed Criteria. This position is responsible for working with many groups within IT and with the business on analysis, design and development efforts to ensure high-quality testable deliverables and to plan, design, develop and execute automated and manual test cases and track defects. The Software Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading small to mid-size quality assurance efforts. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, and four years test engineering experience with two years of experience working on complex projects. Two years of experience leading and mentoring test staff; or an equivalent combination of education and five years test engineering experience with two years of experience working on complex projects and two years of experience leading and mentoring test staff; or seven years of experience in test engineering, two years of experience working on complex time-boxed projects and two years of experience leading and managing test staff. This position requires *2-3 years of test automation or development experience using an object oriented language, preferably Java or C#*. This is demonstrated through: - Experience using *Rational Software's *suite of products (Manual Tester, Functional Tester, Performance Tester, version 7.0 or higher) - Experience with *Agile *test methodology - Experience with test automation development, creation and execution - Experience writing automated testing scripts - Experience working with business partners in writing detailed test plans - Experience with defect entry, management and stakeholder communication Able to work well with business customers and IT partners. Technically proficient in core technologies and methodologies used by the team. Able to work with minimum direction. Able to plan and manage his/her own work. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities: Design and write formal test plans and test specifications to address unit, system and integration testing. Execute detailed test procedures, manual or automatic, designed to validate application functional requirements Ensure that software requirements are verifiable and quantifiable Writes test plans and build test cases with direct involvement from business customers Creates and maintains automated test scripts Documents defects in a tracking system Uses automated testing tools Ensure that reliability considerations have been adequately addressed during the development life cycle Contributes to efficient and effective program and system solutions in solving light to medium-complex business problems. Develops light to medium-complex programs and systems in support of software quality assurance processes and objectives. Contributes to and supports the corporation's quality initiatives by encouraging team and individual contributions toward the corporation's quality improvement efforts.
