*Description*

This position serves as a Web Developer / Administrator for interactive
communication strategy and development for Indiana Department of
Transportation. The Web Developer / Administrator for interactive strategy
is accountable for strategic and functional oversight of electronic
communications including agency Web site(s) and social media. This position
is responsible for ensuring the INDOT web site is developed efficiently and
in accordance with state regulations, and contains accurate and appropriate
messaging content, as well as maintains continuity of design and operational
efficiency. This position is also responsible for assisting in development
and maintenance of the agency social media program, and supports the
agency’s strategy, culture, and key initiatives.

Photoshop – 4-7 Years

XML – 4-7 Years



*Essential Duties/Responsibilities:*

   - Partner with functional leadership in developing interactive
   communication strategy;
   - Implement and manage web-based communications strategies and systems
   that support internal operations and enhance INDOT’s external public image;
   - Assist in the development, implementation and management of electronic
   communications tools including Web sites and social media applications;
   - Assist in the identification of short and long term interactive
   communication goals;
   - Conduct review and analysis of INDOT’s web site, identifying areas for
   enhancements to better meet customer expectations and ease of use;
   - Work with INDOT information systems staff and oversee implementation of
   site enhancements;
   - Work with communications staff to develop, maintain and enforce
   editorial style guidelines;
   - Develop policy for web site changes, updates, requested pages and other
   applications;
   - Design and present strategies and action plans to measure, analyze and
   optimize web experiences on an ongoing basis;
   - Gather and synthesize data from web analytic/site measurement tools and
   create reports for management;
   - Create search optimization plan for content;
   - Develop virtual public meeting strategy;


   - Stay current on agency operational, administrative, and technical
   functions;
   - Performs other related duties as required.

 *Job Requirements:*

   - Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Management or
   related field with 3-5 years experience in business analysis and online
   content strategy;
   - General knowledge of systems (various programming languages, database
   management, system architectures, relational database theory, etc.);
   - Experience with content management systems and databases;
   - Expert level attention to detail;
   - Working knowledge of internet research and compiling and analyzing
   data, statistics and trends from web sites;
   - Hands-on experience with web analytics tools, internet research tools
   and search engine optimization;
   - Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills;
   - Good judgment in identifying issues and recommending solutions to
   others;
   - Demonstrated understanding of Web communications needs and how to
   tailor messages on Web as well as social media;
   - Strong organizational skills, meticulous, and ability to multi-task;
   - Ability to work with customers to assess needs and create and deliver
   solutions to satisfy
