*We have an urgent requirement for a java developer in NY * *Locals preferred* Location: NY 6+months to 1 yr contract Role Summary The candidate’s responsibilities will include some or all of the following: • Work closely with business users • Day-to-day support of the derivatives trade flow -- including the analysis and resolution of exceptions, ad-hoc bug-fixes, investigation of reconciliation report breaks, handling user queries etc. • Participation in ongoing strategic projects -- such as the implementation of a new reconciliation framework, improved tools to monitor and resolve system exceptions, new system flows to replace legacy functionality • Support for industry-wide events such as credit derivative quarterly rolls, credit events and succession events • Extend systems flows to support new GS businesses trading OTC derivatives • Analysis/development for financial industry-wide OTC initiatives – such as Client Clearing • Analysis/development to increase STP rates and/or enhance internal operational controls and efficiencies Basic Qualifications Technical Skills • 3+ years of experience in the Technology industry • Solid Java hands on programming experience with an in depth understanding of object oriented principles • Well versed in software development best practices Relational Database skills. Sybase preferred.
