Charlotte, NC Rate: DOE Duration: 6 Months *Responsibilities:* Performs administrative activities required to support a Windows platform in a production trading environment. Provide system administration, operational support, problem resolution, & perform hardware and software installations & upgrades. Monitor system performance and capacity. Forecast system demands; recommend upgrades, expansion and reconfiguration. Troubleshoot problems and take appropriate corrective action and/or interact with IT staff or vendors in performing complex testing, support & troubleshooting functions. Document standards and operating procedures for the system and act as a technical resource to IT staff and system users. Manage projects and work related tasks. *Requirements:* Ideal candidate will have 5 yrs exp. supporting and working in Windows environment. This consultant should have proven ability to perform troubleshooting, load balancing & resource allocation in a production environment. Production exp w/Windows 2003 server required; exp w/SAN attached systems preferred; large server environment exp preferred; Microsoft clustering exp. preferred. VMWARE ESX 3.0.x exp. preferred. SQL exp. a plus; IIS exp. a plus; MOM exp. a plus; Citrix exp a plus; NAS exp. a plus; Veritas Storage Foundation exp. a plus. Able to function in fast moving & technically challenging production-trading environment. Must be detail oriented.
