Mainframe Programmer Analyst – Consultant

Responsibilities:

Daily duties include following business and technical specifications and
providing programming and analysis skills throughout the software
development lifecycle of projects.   Developer must be able to successfully
analyze, code, and test a variety of application programs spanning both the
online (CICS) and Batch(jcl) environments. Programmer should be a good
communicator and not be afraid to seek out answers when needed.

Analysis: Programmer will need to understand both functional and technical
specs and implement into the current TTS programming standards.

Coding: Use COBOL and DB2 in the current environment.

Testing:  Should be able to use current tools including Platinum and
IBM-Debug to verify project results.

Documenting: Must be able to document programs and processes using current
tools including Visio, MS-Word, MS-Excel, etc.

Communication:   Provide status and project updates through Microsoft
Project as well as the Project Manager and Team Leader.  Status of projects
may be needed at anytime by the TRG Manager to identify true availability.

Support: Resolve system abends and issues as needed on variety of
applications. This may include off hour implementation or support for the
installation of assigned projects.

Qualifications:

· 5 years mainframe experience using COBOL.
· DB2, CICS, TSO, ISPF, and JCL skills are also necessary for the candidate.
No management experience required. Strong technical and communication
skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  BA/BS degree in computer science, mathematics, or similar.
· Knowledgable inbut not necessary – IBM-Debug, Changeman, Dumpmaster,
Mainview.
