Required Skills: Minimum 3 years experience working with Oracle databases serving as a data analyst, data integrator, or DBA in a large-scale corporate or government environment. Minimum 3 years experience using Oracle PL/SQL. Minimum 2 years experience using Oracle Stats Packs, TKProf, explain plans, and Enterprise Manager to identify database performance problems and knowledge of how to apply findings to initiate corrective action. Familiarity with Linux utilities that relate to database performance (e.g. SAR, IOSTAT, etc) with an ability to interpret the data and take corrective action to improve performance. Ability to recommend practical strategies to reduce data bottlenecks, improve the efficiency of data flows and ETL processes, and improve database and application performance. Experience designing databases with built-in referential integrity. Knowledge of database security best practices. Preferred: Experience with UNIX and Windows server administration. Scripting skills using UNIX shell, Perl, and DOS batch AS/400 skills DB2 experience XML messaging Knowledge of NC Statewide Technical Architecture Experience working with applications hosted by NC ITS Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: A four (4) year degree in a technical field is required; Computer Science or Engineering is preferred with a minimum of 7 years of IT experience with large, complex applications, using a variety of distributed platforms connected through one or more middleware technologies.
