Client in Providence RI looking for a Solaris Administrator for a 3-6 month contract opportunity. I have enclosed some details below - Please let me know if you have any suitable consultants available. Must have good communication skills Ideal candidate willl have 2-4 years experience as a Unix admin who has been working predominantly on Solaris, and if has Linux experience this would be a plus. 1. Solaris 8, 9 and 10 – 2-4 years hands on administration experience, INCLUDING patching. Knowledge of best practices regarding how to prepare for, execute and back out of patches. 2. Ability to follow written instructions with precision and accuracy. 3. Strong familiarity with contents of /etc/services, /etc/inted.conf and Solaris 10 services – how to turn off/on services and ensure they do not return. 4. Expertise with User Account management – add, modify,delete accounts 5. Expertise with Password configuration management – length, strength, history, failed login attempts 6. Proven ability to research a problem and develop a repeatable solution. 7. Work schedule flexibility - working first or second shift and possibly weekends.
