Thanks.* *POSTGRES DBA*** Seeking a Mid to Senior level *Postgres DBA* to join our Database Services team on a contract basis. *Responsibilities* - Provide 'best practices' knowledge of the use of Postgres / Enterprisedb database features. - Be responsible for analyzing, solving and creating solutions for performance tuning, change control, production support, database architecture and design. - Standard database administrative tasks, such as: proactive performance tuning, load testing, monitoring and profiling, trouble-shooting, back-up and recovery, partitioning, replication, installations, upgrades and configurations. - Implementation of new database administration scripts to be used for performance tuning, monitoring, and profiling, trending, troubleshooting and issue resolution across multiple production and non-production environments. - Use structured modeling and flow techniques to articulate application requirements. - Monitor, evaluate and advise on all database issues that relate to any system projects. - Develop documentation and other materials to support ongoing database development. - Monitor and manage databases through their lifecycle and validate the technical solution meets the product requirements. - Managing Development, Test, QA and Production databases. *Education:** *BA/BS: IS, CIS, CS, related technical degree; or equivalent applicable industry experience *MUST have Skills & Experience:* - Managing Development, Test, QA and Production databases. - At least 4+ years hands-on experience as a Postgres / Enterprisedb DBA on Unix-based (Linux) system (incl. physical Design and implementation) - 5+ years of working experience in a mission critical environment. - 2+ years of experience in a HA production environment. - Strong knowledge of Unix Operating Systems, preferably Linux. - Strong knowledge of SQL. - Knowledge of replication tools and techniques as plus. - Knowledge of Oracle and mySQL is also a plus. - Troubleshooting and monitoring skills must be at expert level. - Strong shell script programming skills required. - Proven ability to work well managing multiple projects and priorities. - Strong knowledge and hands on experience related to mission critical backup and recovery. - Excellent oral and written communications skills -- Thanks & Regards, Sanjay Kumar (SAP, QA, BA Expert) Beta Soft Systems, Inc., Fremont, CA 94538 Work- 510-744-1700 Ext. 308 | Fax- 1-800-368-1322| san...@betasoftsystems.com |www.betasoftsystems.com Yahoo ID : skumar_cha...@yahoo.com Join my LinkedIn Network: http://www.linkedin.com/in/sapsanjay We are "Certified Minority Owned Business Enterprise (MBE)".
