Position : Network Engineer Location : Tampa,FL Duration : 6+ Months Contract Proficiency in supporting, monitoring, troubleshooting and installing Cisco or HP products including routers, switches, firewalls and other network components. Understanding of Layer-1, Layer-2, and Layer-3 technologies as related to LAN. MAN, and WAN design, engineering, implementation and support. Must exhibit critical thinking skills when troubleshooting issues. Understanding of IP, TCP, UPD, Multi-Cast, RTSP, SIP, H323, VoIP, Call-Control Signaling, and Routing Protocols. Should have a basic understanding of LAN to WAN transmission, WAN optimization, QoS, queuing, scheduling and congestion on the network infrastructure. Knowledge and understanding of routing protocols and principles including RIPv2, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. Understanding of Metro-Ethernet and MPLS Circuits including ML-PPP, QoS for MPLS, TDM Voice, and SIP Trunking. Knowledge of VMWARE configuration. Knowledge of Citrix. Knowledge of how to support a number of VPN types IPSec, SSL, VPN PPTP and L2TP over IPSEC tunnels; including but not limited to GRE over IPSec and routing protocols over IPSEC/GRE tunnels or DMVPN tunnels. Understanding of network management protocols and principles including SNMPv2, SNMP Traps, System Logging, TACACS+, RADIUS, AAA, Servers Supporting critical NMS Services. Knowledge of network Infrastructure supporting protocols DNS, DHCP, WINS, CIFS, NFS, and all other protocols required to support a functional network infrastructure. Familiar with firewall administration using checkpoint, Cisco ASA, or Cisco PIX or related hardware/software. Understanding of application and network troubleshooting with sniffer appliances/​software Knowledge of WAN optimization and acceleration. Understanding of ISO Model Layer-1- 7 completely with understanding of application interaction in client-server, web based, and three tiered applications. Ability to work unsupervised exercising a high degree of discretion and independent judgment.
