Duration: 6+ Months Phone screen followed by In-person interview Need two professional references from recent projects Position Summary: Under general supervision, designs, implements, and maintains complex Oracle databases in a client/server environment. This includes organization (sizing, performance planning, security, etc.) of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies. Duties and Responsibilities: · Provides support of all databases environments, including production, quality assurance/staging, testing and development. · Install, configure, optimize, administer, monitor, and support transactional processing systems and analytical (data warehouse) relational databases. · Develops and captures database performance metrics; develops detailed analytics and provides reports to management regarding growth and performance levels to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements · Provides recommendations on the selection and implementation of database software and applications. · Provides recommendations where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new guidelines need to be developed. · Assists in the development, recommendation and implementation of a security scheme for database environments, as well as being a participant in disaster recovery planning. · Performs Unix system management and support functions for local administrative database servers. This includes hardware setup, software installation/configuration and the day-to-day administration (performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, etc.). Monitors system resources, ensures system integrity and security and manages accounts. · Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position. Minimum Qualifications: · BS in Related degree · Six or more years of Sun Solaris and Oracle DBA experience Requirements and General Skills: Applicant must be innovative, service and self-motivated, team-oriented, adaptable and capable of managing competing priorities. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate commitment to quality and continuous improvement. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience. Prior experience and knowledge of the Portal Telecommunications Industry Revenue Management System is not required but a large differentiator for otherwise qualified candidates.
