*Position Title: SAS Developer*
*Duration: 4-6 months *
*Location: Raleigh, NC*
*Responsibilities:*
-
Develop Base SAS source code, including descriptions, for all platform
components in accordance with Detailed Software Requirements specification,
the functional design and the technical design document or backlog
-
Design application components to meet business requirements and
application design
-
Assess and identify mitigation for risks, including those related to
high level design, integration, and data quality
-
Participate in design reviews
-
Ensure architectural changes (as defined by Architects) are implemented
-
Provide Level 3 support for technical infrastructure components (i.e.,
databases, middleware and user interfaces)
-
Contribute to root cause /problem analysis
-
Participate and resolve findings in reviews (4 eyes principle) of
developed source code
-
Verify integrated software components by unit and integrate software
testing according to the software test plan. Software test findings must be
resolved
-
Ensure that all code changes are tracked and recorded through a change
management process and that development is scheduled and approved
-
Provide Release Deployments on non-Production Management controlled
environments
-
Capture Build and Deployment notes, develop Software Product Deployment
& Operating Instructions
-
Perform technical change requests scheduled according to Release
Management processes
-
Fix software defects/bugs
-
Measure and analyze code for quality
-
Collaborate with Functional Analysts and technical Specialists to
complete work, as required
*Skills and Competence: *
-
SAS coding fluency – high comfort level writing data step, proc
(especially SQL) & macro code
-
Experience with SAS server environment - especially SAS Metadata Server,
SAS Access, and SAS LASR Server
-
Ability to query and comprehend large-scale databases
-
Solid UNIX experience and ability to perform basic file searching &
editing functions
-
Knowledge of networking concepts such as SSH and NFS.
-
Strong communication skills with the ability to report status and progress
to management team
-
Accustomed to steep learning curves & adapting to new technologies
quickly
-
Ability to work independently
-
Experience with SAS platform administration is an added bonus
-
Familiarity with LSF desired
