Job Description Template Description: Project Summary and Position Overview: (A detailed description of the Project and what the Position entails must be included) The person in this role with work closely with developers and other database development team members to create new features and support enhancements to feeds, components/views, and reporting systems for Next Generation Private Equity using Microsoft SQL Server. Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Work with developers and product owners to define requirements, perform analysis and design, and implement robust, maintainable solutions that meet the business requirements. Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical database models. Provide routine database administration support including backups, recovery, security, and replication for the development and quality assurance environments. Create technical specifications and support documentation. Create SSIS packages to load and process data. Develop and enhance stored procedures. Design and create reports using Reporting Services and Analysis Services. Design and develop maintenance for cubes using Analysis Services. Assist in establishing, maintaining, and communicating standards, guidelines and data architecture best practices. Mentor and work closely with development and implementation teams; and for each phase of a project, work with the project management to identify and mitigate data architecture risks. Lead and participate in reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure that the data architectures and standards are being adhered to. Additional Information: (e.g. Shift Resource, % work that is development vs. maintenance, etc.) Qualification: Education: Bachelors degree in computer science, or other related field is a MUST. Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry Experience & associated number of years of experience: 8+ years database development and administration using Microsoft SQL Server is required. Experience with Microsoft Integration Services including writing robust data ingests, is required. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (OLAP needed) including designing and maintaining cubes is required. In depth T-SQL knowledge is required, including advanced tuning skills. Experience with data modeling and use of data modeling tools, such as ERWin or PowerDesigner, is required. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services is required.
