SharePoint Developer for a long term opportunity in Washington DC. *Candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.* *Sharepoint Developer * *Location Washington DC* *Rate: $50 an hour C2C* maxxxxxxxxxx *Duration 12 MONTHS + * Job Description In addition to the job description of Application Developer V, the following skill set is required: Must have solid technical skills and experience in providing services around Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS), Windows SharePoint Server (SPS) and (WSS), Web development tools, object-oriented programming languages and techniques, database design and optimization tools and leading operating system and network platforms. Specifically, must be proficient in using XML and HTML, Active Server Pages, JavaScript, CAML, VBScript, Web content management and publishing systems, MS .NET architecture, MS Visual Studio, MS Office suite including MS Project, and MS Access and SQL/Server environments. Must be skillful with: Windows XP and NT configuration and management; network and Web security technologies. In addition the position will require and emphasize experience in configuration, administration, customization and implementation of MOSS 2008 SharePoint collaborative and portal technologies, customizing SharePoint using the object model, creating custom web part and ASP .NET web services. The individual should possess the ability to lead and mentor other team members in the MS SharePoint product and be familiar with SDLC best practices. The developer should be comfortable with the following: SharePoint application fundamentals: Features, Site and application pages, Web Parts, Events, Workflows, Web services, Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) object model (Key classes: SPFile, SPFolder, SPWeb and SPSite), authoring CAML. Optimizing site performance: Ghosting and unghosting, Leveraging application pages, Accessing the content database. Defining page structure: Building custom WebControls, Tailoring the core style sheet, Gaining programmatic control of site branding, Modifying site navigation controls at runtime Building and connecting custom Web Parts: Extending the WebPart base class, Collaborating with the Web Part life cycle, Activating Web Part editing, Creating and linking editors, using Key interfaces: IWebPart, IWebActionable and IWebEditable Modeling workflow processes: Developing custom templates, Designing workflows with Visual Studio,Triggering workflows from SharePoint Accessing SharePoint with Web services: Built-in SharePoint Web services: Site Data, Lists and Administration, Invoking Web services from .NET client applications Deploying SharePoint Application as a Solution: Creating the manifest, Packing the application as a Solution, Scheduling and deploying Solutions across the farm, Enabling enterprise deployment of custom SharePoint applications Enterprise Integration: Working with single sign on and business data connector Enterprise MOSS 2007 Search: Configuring and Administering Search, Searching LOB Systems with the BDC, User Profiles and People Search, Extending Search with Federation, Securing Your Search Results, Customizing the Search Experience, Understanding and Tuning Relevance, Building Applications with the Search API and Web Services.
