This is because the sysidtool:system service applies the ns_none.xml profile, which disables nis/server. ns_none.xml should disable NIS client services, not nis/server. Action to be taken : remove the following lines from the file : /onnv/onnv-gate/usr/src/cmd/svc/profile/ns_none.xml That is this file should not disable or deactivate nis serevr but should only disable nis client. <service name='network/nis/server' version='1' type='service'> 49 <instance name='default' enabled='false'/> 50 </service> Please sponsor the bug.
