Position:- Communications Software Application Developer/Analyst Location:- Lisle, IL Duration:- 12 Months Job Description:- * Candidate will be responsible for assisting a team of Engineers that maintain the performance of a customer's wireless network. * Team monitors and analyzes customer's network through the use of a client/server based application running on a SUN platform. * Candidate will use the application to generate reports to assist performance team members. * Candidate will be involved in the creation of UNIX, C, Excel/Access & visual basic and HTML tools to help automate the generation and presentation of reports. * Candidate will be responsible for minor administration tasks, routine maintenance and upgrades to server application as well. Skills Required:- * Extensive scripting experience with the various UNIX tools (grep, awk, sed, etc) to support existing UNIX scripts and develop new scripts on an as needed basis. * Extensive Microsoft Excel experience is required to provide data analysis (charting, pivot tables, etc) along with in depth knowledge of Visual Basic. * The candidate should be able to apply the Unix & Visual Basic Skill set to automate the generation of reports. * An understanding of basic UNIX administration tasks is required. Candidate must have previous development experience. * Oracle Database Performance experience considered a strong plus.
