Position :Mainframe Support Location :Austin, TX Duration :17 Weeks Contract Job Description: Project Description/Daily Assignment Detailed Description of Daily Assignment: This position is responsible for ensuring continuous availability of all online systems, successful completion of all online transactions and batch programs, and hardware components in the data center. -These tasks are accomplished through the use of hardware and software products that facilitate continuous proactive monitoring of local and remote systems and the problem identification, recording and resolution for Home Depot clientele. -The person in this position will work with all groups in I.S. to achieve 100% availability per Service Level Agreements. -This person should be familiar with basic MVS (mainframe OS) commands, but may have to seek assistance for many problems on that platform. They should be able to perform mainframe IPL's under supervision. Technical Skills Needed Required Skills: Years of experience: 3-5 years in IT Operations Create and implement small projects for Operations process refinement. System monitoring of all production environments. Able to successfully follow system and application run books provided. Responsible for first and second level problem analysis and resolution for system troubles by utilizing software tools such as: HSM, ABARS, ADSMS, JES2, TCP/IP, CA-7, SDSF, JCL and Utilities, UNIX, HMC, MainView, TLMS, FTP, REXX, Z/OS System Commands, TSM, DNS, SQL, CICS, DB2 and VPS.
