Utilizes existing or new technology in the automation of processes. Evaluates software packages and provides recommendations to management. * Responsibilities of this position include the following:* Ø Designs and administers OpenView Operations (Operations Manager) SiteScope, Business Process, Monitors and Business Activity Center for complex systems on UNIX and Windows based platform. Ø Provide expert technical assistance and consulting support to clients. Ø Maintain systems and the hosted services through monitoring, data backup, troubleshooting and proactive security measures. Ø Develop highly complex tools for managing the system and makes all services available to users. Ø Manage different types of complex technologies and services into a heterogeneous environment including those outside the operating system domain such as networking services, hot systems and third party software. Ø Responsible for system-wide complex components or complex projects. Ø Provide direction for entire project or a project team. Ø Influence at account level and at customer management level. Ø Solve unique highly complex problems. Ø Develop and write proposals and price out projects. Ø Resolve escalated issues/problems with broad knowledge. Ø Act as an expert and lead associate and career level IT specialists. *Qualifications* *Requirements for this position include:* Ø Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or a related field; or the equivalent combination education and experience. Ø A minimum of five years of directly related experience with 3 years experience in OpenView (Operations Center) administration. Ø Expert knowledge of UNIX, Shell, Perl Scripting, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, and Linux. Ø Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills at a complex level Ø Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts. Ø Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing purchase justifications, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with peers and upper management. Ø Demonstrated experience with applying complex principles into business applications.
