Position : Software Developer Location: NYC NY Duration: Contract The developers will primarily be responsible for developing an application in the mainframe environment using VSAM, DB2 and JCL. The candidates should have had exposure to a broad spectrum of technology with working knowledge of application development in the distributed environment, including Object Oriented Programming. • Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing applications using Cobol for CICS and batch programs. • Superior proficiency with mainframe applications built with JCL, COBOL and CICS. • Experience working with VSAM files and DB2, integrating existing designs with new requirements. • Experience working with stored procedures and SQL in MS SQL 2005 or above. • Strong experience developing in Mainframe environment resolving complex and conflicting design issues. • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex mainframe systems. • Proven ability to work in a high-pressure environment. • Exceptional presentation and organizational skills. • High written and oral communication skills. • Exposure to Object Oriented programming and developing applications in Java or .NET Framework 4.0 and above. • Good familiarity with MQ Series VSAM and IMS. • Experience with Vision Report. • Experience working in a VSE mainframe environment.
