The person should be capable of providing thought leadership and shouldn't be just an executor of what is being told. Should be quick to figure out challenging issues based on his previous experience without needing much handholding. Maintain security and data privacy. Create scalable and high-performance web services for data tracking. Managing and deploying HBase. Ability to write MapReduce jobs. Ability to write Pig Latin scripts. Hands on experience in HiveQL. Familiarity with data loading tools like Flume, Sqoop. Knowledge of workflow/schedulers like Oozie.
