*Role: Sr. BI Developer* *Location: Houston, TX* *Duration: 6-12 months* *Locals preferred* * In Person Interview* *Essential Job Functions* · Formulate designs and/or design recommendations which meet various requirements; balancing the goals and constraints of existing solutions. · Convert business requirements into actionable technical requirements for current and upcoming projects. · Lead the requirements process for projects in feasibility stage · Provide technical leadership within BI team in the design process for approved projects · Design and build reporting and analysis tools that help streamline the business and make reporting, analyzing, planning, and forecasting more efficient · Lead team projects with technical expertise with all aspects of the solution design and implementation, including requirements definition, data acquisition processes, data modeling, process automation, escalation procedures, construction, and deployment · Present and propose solutions, and alternatives, to requirements with an eye to scalability, flexibility, ease of maintenance and time to delivery. This often requires a phased approach and understanding of release schedules. · Mentor and train developers in the current technology, policies, processes, and standards · Interpret business requirements into technical database solutions · Propose potential logic solutions and propose data fixes · Provide technology roadmaps governed by strategic direction, business requirements as well as resourcing and financial constraints · Work closely with project managers and directors as well as IT department clients (business representatives) from a business and process perspective. From a technical perspective this position may engage network engineers as well as other architecture · Assist in scoping and costing of projects · Guide, influence, and grow team members and business colleagues knowledge base · Work with other SMEs and technical support teams in the pursuit of technically excellent solutions · Resourcefulness and perseverance to find data from whatever sources are available, and adeptness in working in large datasets · Advanced knowledge of data analysis, profiling and conceptual modeling, and data quality. *Minimum Requirements* · Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or 7-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. · Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. · 3+ years of Energy Industry Experience preferred · Demonstrated knowledge of BI solutions and best practices for database solutions · Strong Object / Relational mapping experience and ETL principles/knowledge · Strong Experience with Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSRS & SSAS) · Data modeling experience using modeling tools and methodologies · Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
