Primarily, this position will complete application enhancement projects using Microsoft Access/VBA with Microsoft SQL Server 2002, create integration algorithms from multiple data sources, and perform a Microsoft Access database to SQL Server database conversion while following the standards and procedures of Health & Human Services IT department. We are seeking a seasoned Microsoft Access professional with significant SQL Server expertise who will be able to effectively communicate across the organization and directly with the customers. This Senior Development Analyst will be expected to troubleshoot issues as well as determine technical requirements for projects. *The person in this position is expected to: * Participate in the full life-cycle development process of analysis, design, development, testing and deployment of applications and systems. Provide support to the Clients customers. Work directly with application team members to resolve problems and provide technical assistance in maintenance, upgrade, and troubleshooting activities. Complete design, development, testing, deployment, quality assurance, quality control, and initial support efforts. Provide products using best practices, and advanced methods for software development, deployment, database conversion, and maintenance for Microsoft Access/VBA applications using Microsoft SQL Server 2000. Complete requirements analysis, including documentation of system requirements and specifications. Provide communication and coordination between several diverse working groups. Follow the standard work and deployment processes established by the technical staff. *REQUIRED SKILLS: * 5+ years experience in software development with Microsoft Access 2002. 3-5+ years experience in software development with SQL Server 2000. Proven experience developing fully automated applications for client environments. Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 tools: Enterprise Manager and Query Analyzer with a focus on T-SQL. Deep knowledge around database design and structure, including reporting and information delivery methods. Proven experience in understanding desktop application architecture and design. A working understanding of quality assurance procedures and best practices. Experience with configuration management tools and bug tracking tools: VSS, Elementool, or similar. *QUALIFICATION: * Person must pass a department background check and sign a confidentiality agreement.
