Hello again...

This is to add on to my original problem... I'm not entirely sure if this has anything to do with my problem, but it seems that our backup machine does not have a connection with the client machine at all.  It does see all the other machines on the backup though.  When I load up Retrospect, that client machine appears "not connected", but I can connect to it (by clicking on the button).  However, when I close Retrospect, and re-open it, the client machine appears "not connected" again... *sigh*

We do have a firewall set up right now... and all of the machines EXCEPT for that one client machine are behind it (the client machine is on DHCP).  We're investigating this as a possible reason for our dilemma...

Does anyone have any ideas on what's going on?  Thanks in advance.

Chris.

Subject: Weird 505 error?

Hi.

Our backup is kind of acting up... We are backing up our server on and off... i.e. we're getting a 505 error quite frequently (I think this is the "client is reserved" error - and according to the User Guide, the remedy is to restart both the computers).  When we go to check the client machine, it says that it is still being backed up by the backup machine, but this isn't really happening because the backup machine cannot even establish a connection.

To fix this, we've had to restart the client computer multiple times, yet we keep getting this error.  We've been getting it for weeks...

Right now, the backup server is behind the firewall... but this specific client machine is not.  I'm assuming that this shouldn't make much of a difference... ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
