When installing PyLucene on Redhat, after installing the jcc, you must modify the makefile to suit your needs. There is a chunk of code commented out that you have to un-comment a section for your os's environment. When you un-comment out the section closest to your os version, you need to also change the JCC variable to the python command given earlier in the document for your version of python.
