Hi Hari,

RBTools 0.5 is ancient. Please give the latest 0.7.x a try.

Re: "Error uploading diff" seen for certain clearcase file rules

2016-09-09 Thread Hari Prasad
Hi David,

I managed to make rbt post work with --repository, thanks.

Now when I used rbt post for the problematic file rule, am still
getting the error "Error uploading diff". --debug shows the below:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/local/bin/rbt", line 9, in
load_entry_point('RBTools==0.5', 'console_scripts', 'rbt')()

line 150, in run_from_argv
exit_code = self.main(*args) or 0
  File

line 450, in main

  File

line 346, in post_request
raise CommandError(''.join(error_msg))
rbtools.commands.CommandError: Error uploading diff

I could see review id 422 in the RB GUI but diff is missing in the same.

I tried diffing different versions of the problematic file but still
getting same error.

Please let me know what could have caused the error.

If you need any other debug info, please let me know.

Hari

Re: "Error uploading diff" seen for certain clearcase file rules

2016-09-09 Thread David Trowbridge
It could be that the path matching got a little more strict. I'd suggest
using the --repository argument or REPOSITORY config-file key to explicitly
specify which repository (configured within Review Board) to use.

May I know why am getting the repository path error only for rbt post?

If this is resolved and rbt post works, then I can check if rbt post
works for the file rule failing with post-review.

Please clarify.

Hari

Re: "Error uploading diff" seen for certain clearcase file rules

2016-09-01 Thread Hari Prasad
Hi Christian,

We use "post-review" for posting reviews while rbt attach and rbt
publish to publish reviews. We had some issues in posting reviews
using rbt in our setup we are using post-review command.

In the attached log file, post-review fails for file XYZ.cc but works
fine ABC.cc.

Have attached the output of post-review running with --debug.

Please clarify what is going wrong.

Regards,
Hari

Hi,

How are you uploading the diffs?

If you're using RBTools, can you show me a debug log (running with --debug)?

Re: Error uploading diff files

2012-08-30 Thread Christian Hammond
Hi Varun,

We recommend installing our RBTools Python package. (See our docs for the
post-review tool in the user manual on reviewboard.org). This handles the
generation of a diff, creation of a review request, and the uploading of the
diff.

If you wanted to do it manually, I'd need to know a bit more about what type of
repository you're using.

Also, I need to know what issues you're facing.

Re: Error uploading diff files

2012-08-30 Thread Christian Hammond
Hi Varun,

The problem you're hitting is with the base directory you specified. This needs
to be the relative path within the SVN repository to where you generated the
diff. For example, /trunk, or /trunk/myproj.

The post-review tool will do this for you.

 Hmm, what about patch?

Getting a trace from the server's reviewboard.log would tell me more.

That may be in your path, but it also has to be in Apache's path. I'd
 advise a system binary path.

 Hey,

Looks like you're missing the p4 binary in your path somewhere on the
 server.

It still looks like Review Board is having a problem accessing your

It could be some issue with your PySVN install, too.

It still looks like Review Board is having a problem accessing your
Subversion repository. It's failing in some way. Might want to check the
Review Board log file to see if anything is coming up, and attempt a 'svn
info' on the repository path from the Review Board server.

It could be some issue with your PySVN install, too.

Re: Error uploading diff

2011-05-11 Thread Christian Hammond
So it does look as if the Subversion server or perhaps some proxy that's
inbetween Review Board and the SVN server is actually breaking when doing an
HTTP OPTIONS call. I can't guess at this point what the cause would be, but
it seems that Review Board isn't the problem. You'd need to track down why
the SVN server is breaking during an HTTP OPTIONS query.

You can probably simulate that query using either telnet or curl.

The generated diff file was empty. This usually means no files were
 modified in this change.

Try running with --output-diff and --debug for more information.

Your review request still exists, but the diff is not attached.

2010-08-06 Thread ReviewBoard User
Hi
I tried running it in debug mode, it generates the diff but continues
to throw the error Error uploading diff
Your review request exists, but the diff file is not attached

Any inputs on resolving it would be very helpful.

Thanks

That caused it to actually try to ssh as davidu all the time, which

Now all works and life is mostly good.

RE: Error uploading diff: One or more fields had errors (105) - Errors during command execution( p4 login )

2010-07-14 Thread Dana Lacoste
Sorry, I was away for a few days, so I didn't reply right away

Here's your debug steps:

On the _SERVER_ side of ReviewBoard, run the command p4 info. It
should connect to perforce and show you something like this:

User name: p4user

Client name: p4clientspecname

Client host: client-hostname

Client root: C:\Perforce\p4clientspecname

Current directory: C:\Perforce\p4clientspecname

Client address: 123.45.67.89

Server address: 98.76.54.32:1666

Server root: D:\Perforce

Server date: 2010/07/14 11:07:16 -0700 Pacific Daylight Time

Server uptime: 12:34:56

Server version: P4D/NTX86/2009.2/238357 (2010/03/15)

Server license: Company Name (Number of Users)

Server license-ip: 98.76.54.32:1666

This will verify that your connection is running.

Note that you MUST be in the EXACT same running conditions as
ReviewBoard: You must have the same username, the same environment, etc.

If you are running on Windows, for example, and running ReviewBoard
under Apache as a service, then you might have severe difficulty trying
to pretend to be the same username that the service runs as!

If you get an error about unable to connect to Perforce, then you are
missing or have incorrect P4PORT, etc environment variables.

If it does work, well, if you can do that part and let us know we can
maybe track down a more complete solution

It looks like you're having a server-side Perforce issue.

Basically, the review board server has to be able to talk to Perforce
(not just the client-side) and it's having a login issue.

So you can run p4 commands and it's working fine, but the server is
 unable to do so.

You should be able to fix this by setting up P4PORT, P4USER,
P4PASSWD,

Re: Error uploading diff: One or more fields had errors (105)

2009-11-16 Thread Christian Hammond
Yeah, it's on the server side. When you post a diff, Review Board will
verify the existence of each file. For Perforce repositories, it does this
using the p4 command line tool.

There's instructions in the documentation for installing this.

i installed p4 tool also @ the server m/c, but still getting the same error.
The p4 is also in path environment variable.

p4python25.exe just installs the Python modules. You still need p4.exe on
the server in the path. The Python support uses both the tool and the API.

Is the PATH modification also visible to the Apache process hosting Review
Board? I don't know which OS you are running, but under Windows changing the
System PATH in the Control Panel is required, but not sufficient to update the
search path for a service. Typically at least a service (if not server)
restart is needed to propagate the environment modification to the service
process.
