Re: HTTP authentication is required, but cannot be used with --diff-filename=-

2014-04-18 Thread Jacob Weber
I tried a few older versions, and I start getting the error on 0.5.3.
Version 0.5.2 works. Could it be related to this, which was fixed on 0.5.3?

Re: HTTP authentication is required, but cannot be used with --diff-filename=-

2014-04-18 Thread Christian Hammond
This error is a bit unclear, but it's referring to the web API's HTTP
authentication.

Some of this code changed, and it looks like the problem is that we're
doing the check regarding --diff-filename=- too early, preventing the
provided username/password from working.

Would you mind filing a bug for this, so that we can track it and get this
in for 0.6.1?

As a workaround, you should be able to do an initial request (without
--username and --password) to get a cookie generated. Future attempts
should just end up reusing the cookie instead of going down this code path.

Christian
