I already explained that this is an issue in Pygments. We don't have control
over it. Best I can do is help you diagnose what Pygments may be tripped up on
so you can contact them.
Can you show a screenshot of this happening, and show the file name, so I can
see the extension?

In earlier versions of RB, we have never faced this issue. First time we
are seeing these red rectangles over three symbols
!,@ and $ in RB 1.7.7.1.
Please help us out to get rid of these red rectangles.

The red triangles come from Pygments, the library used to syntax highlight
files. It's either not recognizing the type of file correctly, or otherwise
doesn't expect to see those symbols there. Either way, there's nothing we can
do here right now.
