I'm not sure what you mean by whitespace. Can you include a screenshot? -David On Mon, Dec 20, 2010 at 2:54 PM, twhalen trwha...@sympatico.ca wrote: Hi - is it possible to do this? I'm new to RB. Re: want to see diffs side-by-side on one screen witthout having to use the slider
What I mean is that both windows seem to have approximately 40 blank chars at the end of each source line, which then requires me to use the horizontal slider to be able to actually compare the lines visually. I believe that the lines in the source file may be quite long (eg: 120 chars). Is it possible to display say only an 80-column width for the window on the left, and an 80-column width for the window on the right? That would trim off these blank characters which seem to be present, and allow me to more easily compare the lines from each file. Unfortunately I can't provide a screenshot, since it's a customer's code... Thanks for your help. Re: want to see diffs side-by-side on one screen witthout having to use the slider
Generally this only happens if there are very long code lines without any wrappable characters. One very long line in any of the files can throw off the entire page. We rely on the browser's line wrapping, and some browsers (firefox, safari, chrome) are better than others (opera, ie) in this regard. -David On Mon, Dec 20, 2010 at 9:53 PM, twhalen trwha...@sympatico.ca wrote: What I mean is that both windows seem to have approximately 40 blank chars at the end of each source line, which then requires me to use the horizontal slider to be able to actually compare the lines visually.
