Not sure what's going on regarding the multiple PRs for this issue, but I
cherry-picked this PR on top of 1.6.2 and it fixed the problem for me.

Just to raise an idea that would possibly mean less code change, would
simply having a flag that causing a "currently processing applications" type
message to display without an actual count with
401 - 500 of 661 matches
