ILL currently has an opening for a Research Scientist in its Diffraction Group. The post represents an excellent opportunity for a young postdoctoral scientist to develop his/her expertise, broaden his/her experience and interact with leading scientists from around the world. Applications from more experienced scientists on secondment will also be welcomed.
The successful candidate must be a highly motivated scientist with a PhD. In addition to carrying out a personal research programme, he/she will be expected to participate in the operation and development of a single-crystal diffractometer. In particular, we are looking for candidates with experience in single-crystal determination of small to medium structures, and data reduction with large 2D area detectors. Neutron diffraction experience is not essential, but an expert knowledge of crystallography and scientific computing is.
