As you say there is massive flexibility in LMS to suit ones individual
preferences.

If I am "talking" music then my definition of compilation follows the
Wikipedia one quite closely and I would agree that Beatles 1 is a
compilation but I have it under The Beatles not under Compilations in
LMS.
As with all things there are some examples of anomalies in that
Wikipedia definition as there are in any definition - Pink Floyd's
Endless River springs to mind. It's a bunch of outtakes, unfinished
tracks and some new recordings put together to finish the tracks and
make a new album. Is it a compilation or an official release. I have it
indexed only under Pink Floyd either way.

Then there is the age old question of ArtistSort where one can debate
the pros and cons of a particular strategy forever and a day. If only we
had time on our hands to do so....
