I just built a new Rivendell machine. Rather than deal with possible
dependency issues, I simply installed CentOS 7 on a virgin hard drive,
then installed the appliance from Paravel. CentOS is still available
and will remain supported until 30 June 2024.

While these instructions may work to perform a CentOS upgrade to CentOS
8, I expect you will then be unable to run

One of the things I have an "issue" with Red Hat,
you can't "update" 6 to 7, or 7 to 8.
They are COMPLETELY different OS !
